The EU Marine Directives gathers together a list of Directives and Policies effective in EU member states dealing directly with the marine waters .
Fish Water Directive – 2006/44/EC (FWD) Directive 2006/44/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 September 2006 on the quality of fresh waters needing protection or improvement in order to support fish life[1].
Shellfish Water Directive – 2006/113/EC (SWD) Directive 2006/113/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2006 on the quality required of shellfish waters[2].
Bathing Water Directive – 2006/7/EC (BWD) Directive 2006/7/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 February 2006 concerning the management of bathing water quality and repealing Directive 76/160/EEC[3].
Water Framework Directive (EC, 2000) Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2000 establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy[4].
Marine Strategy Framework Directive – 2008/56/EC (MSF) Directive 2008/56/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 establishing a framework for community action in the field of marine environmental policy (Marine Strategy Framework Directive) [5].
Birds Directive 2009/147/EEC Directive 2009/147/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on the conservation of wild birds [6].
