We have always relied on seas for food, recreation, economic opportunities, transport, as a waste dump and so on. Now, with progressing climate change and intensive human pressures, the marine ecosystem in Europe is in a serious danger. We can reverse this trend only unifying citizens, researchers, business, policy makers, industry and societal actors efforts.
The MARINA project will engage these actors all together in order to share knowledge, take into account citizens vision and societal needs, merge research&innovation with the environmental safeguard. The Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) process will realize these objective: RRI is a new approach to science whereby all actors engaged can effectively make their voice heard in the whole research process and share their ideas with those that develop new solutions. Thanks to the application on the field, MARINA project will stregthen this systematic approach and it will make it transferable and reproducible for any RRI thematic domain.
Know more about RRI and MARINA projects’ impact on the section Societal Objective.
MARINA project will plan stakeholders-activity engagement actions in order ease actors cooperation, such as the MARINA Knowledge Platform, the organization of Mobilisation and Mutual Learning Workshops, exhibitions and other more.
