'''Summary''': The poor condition of the coastal water bodies around the Baltic Sea has a negative impact on the living as well as business and recreational activities in the region. One of the most important necessary actions is to reduce the nutrient load by better wastewater handling. As the technology is available, the legislation is in place and financial incentives exist: what is still needed is action on the part of the inhabitants.

The Act4MyBalticSea project develops new methods for public mobilisation, looks for solutions for automatic measurements of marine water quality, and aims at increasing the quantity of waste water from recreational boats collected in harbours. The project compares traditional municipal approaches with intensified personalised promotional activities and direct interaction.
