The Baltic Sea Challenge project improves the state of the Baltic Sea by implementing water protection measures on a voluntary basis at a local level. The project creates tools to introduce water protection aspects to the every-day functions of the city administration and the decision-making processes at a local level. The project focuses on the challenges and opportunities in the field of eutrophication. Furthermore, the project activates new actors such as cities and municipalities, NGOs and schools to take part in the protection of the Baltic Sea. <br />

The project partners promote and implement voluntary action plans for the recovery of the Baltic Sea, prepare investment plans, carry out awareness-raising activities such as cross-border seminars, working groups, training, high-level round-tables, organise a quiz for children and are organising a Baltic Sea art workshop.<br />
