Maritime oil transportation is also vulnerable to security threats – an area of less attention on the Baltic Sea. Traditionally, improvements to maritime safety regulation have been realized only after major accidents. Post-accident policies are not very comprehensive and may be biased by the characteristics of a certain accident. <br />

The aim of the project is to combine the information provided so far in earlier projects dealing with maritime safety and risks related to oil transportation with new information about the less studied aspects of maritime accidents and risks.
