Title: BANGEMAC Network: Marine Gene Bank from Macaronesia

Summary: The purpose of this project is to promote the development and use of molecular biology methodologies based on analysis of DNA, for use in the short and long term information of the DNA molecule, in order to establish rapid response strategies in the investigation of marine organisms and biodiversity management. Establish a collaborative network BANGEMAC and Science & technology transfer in the Macaronesian region.

This project aims to:

• Implement and make available to the scientific and business community molecular technologies,
• Address and help guide the conservation,
• Development and management of marine biodiversity,
• Develop a common strategy across the region, appropriate to the characteristics and problems of priority resources in each archipelago
