Title: Inter-regional network to promote sustainable development in the marine algal industry

Summary: This project seeks to achieve the following:

• To create a Europe-wide network of relevant stakeholders in the marine macro-algae sector. This network shall include primary producers, processors, relevant technology suppliers, process consultants, research institutes, environmental experts, development agencies, local governments and relevant community groups and interested stakeholders. The creation of an effective the network requires the creation of business tools such as databases, website, trade directory, training materials, these shall be delivered in parallel;
• To carry out a wide ranging policy study to establish a best practice model and suggested policies for successful, sustainable, commercial utilization of marine macro-algae resources.
