Welcome to Marine Sectors The EU Blue Growth strategy highlights five sectors as drivers: aquaculture, marine renewable energy, marine mineral mining, marine biotechnology, and marine and coastal tourism. However, in order to highlight and be able to include additional growth- and innovation opportunities, based on RRI, the MARINA consortium has supplemented with several sectors and in particular: Fisheries Aquaculture Tourism Transport Energy Ports, harbours and marinas Minerals and Metals Oil and gas Waste Management Agriculture Forestry Urban and industrial uses Security/defence Education and research Urbanisation Aiming at tackling challenges related to the above-identified Marine Sectors, 45 Mutual & Mobilisation Workshops were organized by the MARINA Consortium, the results of which are documented here.
